We would like to welcome you to ‘APLA 2015 Annual Regional Conference' in Seoul held between 2015.10.19 ~ 23.  
 
Lottery industry in Korea has been advancing rapidly and established remarkable results such as settling a healthy leisure culture, share culture, and strengthening national welfare. Particularly, along with the growth of industrial-scale of lottery, it developed its own unique system by utilizing the world’s leading IT technology. In addition, we concentrate to spread ‘sharing culture’ by assisting the low-income and social welfare with funds raised from the lottery.   
 
The ‘APLA 2015 Annual Regional Conference', where lottery-related people from all over the world gather around, is held and organized to re-focus the recent developments of lottery industry in Korea and furthermore Asia Pacific region, and to strengthen international cooperation at the conference. In addition to establishing global network of lottery industry, this meeting will provide an opportunity to discover the future ways of the lottery in Korea and Asia.   
 
For this, we focused on building programs that can contribute in suggesting directions to ‘Enhancing the industry’ among Asia-Pacific countries.   
 
We sincerely ask for your heartful participation to the ‘APLA 2015 Annual Regional Conference' where we can discuss and observe the new future of lottery industry.

Welcome everyone to ‘The 8th Asia Pacific Lottery Association (APLA) Seoul conference 2015’ which is hosted by The Korea Lottery Commission, The Ministry of Strategy and Finance and Asia Pacific Lottery Association (APLA), and organized by Nanum Lotto Co., Ltd. in this October.  
 
The history of Korea lottery roots back to 1947, (69 years before) when it started with ‘London Olympics Support Lottery’. Unlike then, organizing only one printed lottery, now, it developed to a wide range of lottery products from printed and electronic lotto products to online lotto games.   
 
Each year, approximately 1.5 trillion KRW of funds are raised from the lottery and contributed to improve social welfares and supplement public services, especially for low-income families. The lottery has been developed based on the recognition of ‘Sharing’ and ‘Donation’ as a culture of lottery.   
 
The APLA Seoul conference 2015 will be a place where we can introduce not only lottery industry of Korea but also the gifted culture’s state of development to the world which will enhance the position of Korea. This conference will surely be a truth and meaningful place where each nation’s lottery related people can discuss to vitalize lottery industry which will lead in enhancing the global cooperation.   
 
I and our team welcome your participation to ‘The 8th Asia Pacific Lottery Association Seoul Conference 2015’ which will open a new, bright future for our lottery industry.

Welcome to the 2015 APLA Regional Conference in Seoul, Korea.

안녕하세요 (annyeonghaseyo). This is a very well-known Korean greeting that is now familiar to many who have become fans of the popular and successful Korean Singers and TV Drama series

Seoul is well known to be the world's most wired city and ranked first in technology readiness by PwC in their Cities of Opportunity report. It is also a world leading technology hub and boasts 15 Fortune Global 500 Companies such as Samsung, the world's largest technology company, as well as LG and Hyundai-Kia. APLA is pleased to have selected Seoul to be the 2015 APLA Regional Conference venue.

On behalf of APLA, I would like to welcome all of you to attend this year’s Conference which is being hosted by the Korea Lottery Commission and organized by Nanum Lotto together with the assistance from Singapore Pools on the Business Program.

The Conference Theme is “Sail with Korea Wave – Content, Inspiration and New Media”

The Business Program is packed with many interesting topics to cover these 3 key segments and I am sure delegates will take home with them many key learning points. In addition, delegates will be presented with networking opportunities as this event is where lottery industry peers in the Region can meet to share and exchange ideas with one another
